Volunteer Coordinator, Lindsey Marler, is a servant at heart, excited about ministry opportunities at The Christian Center and has a vision for its future. Be prepared: she intends to ignite your heart and set it ablaze with a similar passion for helping the homeless. In Lindsey's view, it's important to see people first and then their situation.
A recent Anderson University graduate with a major in social work, Lindsey has been involved in some fascinating internship programs that have prepared her for the work that lies ahead. As a city host in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for Student Missions, Lindsey introduced youth groups to street ministry and working with various inner-city social agencies.
Lindsey also worked at City Hall in community development through an Anderson University internship. It was through her research and data gathering in this position that she came into contact with The Christian Center. As graduation neared, Lindsey began her job search. In an interesting twist, a fellow classmate who had applied for the Volunteer Coordinator position believed that Lindsey would be a better fit for the job, and encouraged her to apply. But Lindsey shares that for her, it's not a job—it's a ministry. And she wants Christ to be at the center of it.
Lindsey's goal is to make you feel welcomed as a volunteer, helping you identify the best place to share your gifts at The Christian Center.
