Scott Richards, Executive Director
As Executive Director, it is Scott Richard's responsibility to provide vision and leadership—spiritual, organizational and operational—for The Christian Center. His professional background gives him a unique perspective of the business aspects of The Christian Center. Knowing that it is a solid, stable infrastructure that supports and facilitates effective ministry, Scott's approach is systematic and intentional. His management approach is to implement best practices, help provide the necessary resources, and create an atmosphere in which staff, volunteers and donors can carry out the ministry that God has given them. Everything is evaluated by this standard: "Will this allow us to advance the gospel?"
In 2006, when Scott Richards was asked to come and help out on a short-term basis at The Christian Center, he had no idea that it was God's plan to lead him into the position of its Executive Director. With a background in corporate sales, he hadn't envisioned a career track that would move him into ministry. But shortly after his arrival, staff began to pray that he would stay, and the Board of Directors approached him about the position. It wasn't long before Scott got clear direction that this was the work that God was giving him to do.
Scott graduated from Anderson University with a double major in Bible and Psychology. He has begun work on his Master's degree at Princeton Theological Seminary and is in his second year of the ordination process with the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). He is a commissioned minister.
