Donating your unwanted vehicle is an easy way to support the ministries of The Christian Center while at the same time getting rid of an out-dated yard or driveway "ornament!"
Whether your vehicle is a well-used family sedan or old minivan, a classic collectable, an unfinished project that has been long tucked away in your garage, or an old clunker gathering dust in your driveway or causing a sink hole in your yard, The Christian Center will turn any unwanted vehicle into a valuable donation. We will happily accept any of the following vehicles as donations:
While vehicles that are in good running condition are of greater value to The Christian Center, we often are able to use any of the above items listed. Your vehicle doesn't need to run but you do need provide us with proof of ownership. Please be ready to provide your vehicle's year, make, model or vehicle identification number (VIN) and current mileage, a signed vehicle title together with any other pertinent documentation as required by the state of Indiana. You will need to describe the condition of the vehicle and disclose any structural damage.
To learn more about how automobile donations affect your tax status please visit www.irs.gov and search for "car donation". The IRS has several articles and tips that will answer questions about your specific situation. The sale of your vehicle will support a 501(c)(3) charitable organization so it is tax deductible. Since each donor's tax situation is different we recommend that you consult your tax professional.
You can deduct the value of your vehicle only if you itemize deductions when filing your taxes. Under the current IRS law, if the vehicle is sold by the nonprofit, you may only deduct the ACTUAL sale price of your vehicle or $499 which ever is greater. A receipt indicating the sale price and date will be provided to you by The Christian Center. If the vehicle is used for The Christian Center mission, you will be able to deduct the fair market value of the vehicle.
